Founder

Founder & Director
Jolene is a homeschool alumna who completed her Masters in Music Education at Arizona State University in 2007. She taught at multiple Tempe Elementary District schools as a general music educator for twelve years, and served as choir director at Phoenix Boys Choir for seven years. After having her own children, she taught part-time at a Great Hearts academy, then opened a microschool from their home for three years before founding Cultivate. Jolene has a passion to ignite enthusiasm for learning — integrating multiple methodologies to engage students holistically while maintaining high expectations for intellectual and moral development. She and her husband Josh have a son, Jack, and a daughter, Jane.
Campus Faculty

Pre-K Lead

Kindergarten & 1st Grade Lead
Haley was born and raised in Ohio and moved to Arizona 14 years ago to begin her teaching career. She taught first grade for eight years before staying home when her son was born. She is excited to be back in the classroom, inspiring children to love learning.

Dyslexia Specialist & Science
Lindsay holds a B.A. from Houston Christian University (Early Childhood & Special Education). She has eight years of classroom experience in Texas, Canada, and Arizona, and has spent 14 years tutoring students — especially those with learning challenges. Mrs. Rivero is a passionate advocate for students with dyslexia.

Early Reading Specialist
Jan is a veteran homeschool mom with extensive classroom experience as a substitute teacher and reading specialist in SUSD. She is youthful to her core and absolutely loves working with children.

2nd & 3rd Grade Lead
Danni is an Arizona native with nine years of teaching experience in a classical education setting after earning her B.A. in Journalism from ASU's Walter Cronkite School. Since having children of her own, she has stayed home while remaining passionate about education.

4th–7th Grade Lead
Colleen is a certified teacher with thirteen years of experience in international, public, and charter schools. After having her first son in 2019, she started her own tutoring business. Mrs. Vorst has taught everything from 1st grade intervention reading to high school career-readiness classes.

Art
Victoria graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a degree in Child Psychology and has been teaching ever since. She taught first grade for four years before moving to part-time art instruction at a Great Hearts academy. Mrs. King loves teaching children to feel confident in their art skills.

English & Literature
Jaime holds a Masters in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University and a B.S. in Broadcasting and Business Management from ASU's Walter Cronkite School. She is also a certified yoga and meditation guide. Jaime is wife to a police Lieutenant and mama to a blended family of five.

Spanish
Nieves holds the Aim4Excellence National Director Credential from National Louis University and an Early Childhood Education Certificate from Sydney, Australia. She helped launch the Spanish Program at the International School of Arizona and has served as Preschool Director at both LBM Preschool and ISA. Nieves brings conversational Spanish to life with cultural richness for students of all ages.
